This is a true reflection of history, when the Austrian empress Sissy repeatedly enjoyed the spa town of Merano with all its beauty.

    Merano Arte art gallery measures 500m² and contains items of art, architecture, literature, music and new media. By invitation, artists can live and work as "artists in residence" in the gallery's studio.

    The Tappeinerweg is the symbol of the "'garden town" of Merano, and one of the most beautiful mountain promenades in Europe. It takes visitors across the sunny slopes of the Küchelberg Mountain to Gratsch. Along with an interesting mix of Alpine and Mediterranean plants, the Tappeinerweg also offers magnificent views over the rooftops of the city and the entire Burggrafenamt region.

  • The Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle & Touriseum Merano

    The botanical gardens at Trauttmansdorff Castle in Merano are the highlight of the South Tyrolean region for any nature lover - they are simply unmissable. Trauttmansdorff Castle sits on a hill right in the centre of the gardens. It is home to the Museum of Tourism. The "Touriseum" narrates 200 years of Tyrolean tourism, and offers visitors all kinds of tourism exhibits to touch and get involved with.
